How to use this tool
The idea

Solo players encounter more strangers than anyone. NPC Forge means none of them have to be forgettable. In solo RPG, every piece of new information has to come from someone — NPCs are where the story lives.

Quick start
  • 1Type a few words about who you’ve met — merchant, nervous, gate
  • 2Choose First Impression for a fast read, Quick NPC for more depth
  • 3Hit Forge
Matching the type to the moment

First Impression is three lines — name, face, manner. Fast enough to use mid-sentence. Quick NPC gives you name, appearance, personality, and what they want right now.

Leave the field empty and you get fragments — impressionistic details that fit most strangers in most settings. Type a few keywords and get a full character built around those words.

NPC Reaction is for when you already know who the person is and need to know how they respond to something you just did. Different tones reshape who people are entirely — try them.

Your key is stored locally and never sent anywhere except Anthropic. Get a free key here.

Don't want the setup? Viking removes this entirely — just subscribe and play. £2.99/month

Sets the voice and atmosphere of every result. Grim & Dark suits most Board Viking games — try others as your setting changes.

Your next encounter awaits. Describe who you've met and forge them into being.
